The Big Purple

The Big Purple is a Projection 762 which was originally build in 1995. We purchased it in 2003, refurbished it and then campaigned it mostly in races on the river Medway, the Thames estuary and at Ramsgate regatta. We sold The Big Purple at the beginning of 2006 when we moved on to campaign a X-332.

The Big Purple was owned and has been sailed in a partnership between Chris Lucas, Dave Brown, Hubertus Haniel, John Gyngell, John Webster, Rob Hill, Matthew Williams and Paul Davies. Most of us are members of either the Medway Yacht Club or Upnor Sailing club, in some cases even both.
